Goal Setting – Develop the “HOW”
It’s almost the New Year and you know what that means – time for resolutions and goal setting. We want to help you achieve your 2015 goals. The last two weeks, we’ve determined How to Set SMART Goals and Finding the “WHY”.
This week we are focusing on developing the “HOW.” Planning your strategy is integral for your success. Ask yourself, “How will I reach my SMART goal? What do I need to do each day, each week, and each month to reach my end goal.”
Here are a few steps to help develop the “How”:
- Make a training calendar/schedule. There are many established training programs and knowledgeable coaches who can assist you.
- Set your workout calendar and stick to it.
- Set periodic check points or mini milestones to monitor your progress.
- If you fall off track, don’t give up. Enlist a friend, coach or other trusted adviser to help you get back on track.
- Set 3 big things you must do each week to reach your goal, and do them.
Use the motivation of the WHY to figure out the HOW. Keep up with your big 3 and keep pushing forward.
